Job Description
The Supply Chain Finance Analyst supports accounting and financial reporting tied to the company’s manufacturing and supply chain operations. This role assists with month-end close, work order variance analysis, accruals, and financial analysis that supports production and supply chain decision-making. The analyst works closely with plant operations, supply chain, and corporate finance, learning the end-to-end manufacturing accounting cycle under the direction of senior team members. Reports to the Senior Director of Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close
• Assist with month-end close activities for supply chain and manufacturing, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and close checklist tasks
• Prepare accrual schedules (freight, utilities, temp labor, R&M, inbound/outbound logistics, etc.) with supporting documentation for review
• Reconcile assigned inventory, WIP, and finished goods accounts; flag discrepancies for resolution
• Pull data and prepare variance commentary on manufacturing and supply chain P&L lines against budget, forecast, and prior period
Work Order and Manufacturing Variances
• Pull and analyze work order variance data daily and at close — material usage, labor, overhead absorption, and yield
• Flag abnormal variances and prepare supporting detail for review
• Coordinate with production, planning, and procurement to gather context on recurring variances
• Help maintain standard cost data in NetSuite and support periodic standard cost rolls
Financial Analysis
• Build recurring reports on cost per case, COM, scrap and waste, freight, and other supply chain KPIs
• Provide data and analysis to support the annual budget and periodic forecasts
• Complete ad-hoc analyses for cost-savings initiatives, capital projects, sourcing changes, and process improvements
• Respond to data requests from plant and supply chain leadership
Controls and Audit
• Follow internal controls over manufacturing and supply chain accounting processes
• Pull supporting documentation for internal and external audit requests
• Suggest improvements to close and reporting processes
Requirements:Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience; manufacturing
• Exposure to standard costing and variance analysis a plus
• Familiarity with fixed asset accounting concepts
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with NetSuite or another ERP preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable on the plant floor — willing to walk the lines and ask questions
• Solid communication skills; able to work cross-functionally with operators and finance peers
