Deputy Public Conservator in Nevada City, California at County of Nevada

Nevada County Adult Services is looking for a dynamic Deputy Public Conservator to work in the Adult Services division of the Department of Social Services!

Our Deputy Public Conservators provide the following support to community members:

• Responsible for daily case management of our Public Guardian cases, both LPS (mental health) and Probate. Incumbent will attend Court for the Public Guardian’s office, make site visits to secure mental health facilities and independent or supportive living homes, schedule and attend care conferences and medical appointments, manage conservatee estates, and any additional duties that may arise for our conservatees.
• Make in-home visits for APS for the purpose of investigating allegations of abuse or neglect. This requires thorough assessments, creating service plans, and closing cases when appropriate.
• This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to frequent changes in daily priorities. Additionally, a successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to provide extensive, timely, and detailed documentation.

This position may have some flexibility to telework but will generally be required in the office or in the field, working closely with the Supervisor and Program Manager to ensure all program requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner. Incumbent must have a responsible sense of compassion and dedication to customer service.
