Job Description

AI Testing & Delivery Automation Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a AI Testing & Delivery Automation Engineer based in Canada.

This role is a senior, hands-on engineering position focused on transforming how software testing is designed, automated, and scaled across modern development teams. You will define and drive an end-to-end testing strategy that is deeply embedded into CI/CD workflows, ensuring quality is built into delivery rather than added after development. Acting as both a technical leader and enablement partner, you will empower engineering teams to own testing through scalable frameworks, standards, and tooling. A key part of the role involves introducing and operationalizing AI-assisted testing to accelerate test creation, debugging, and maintenance. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Infrastructure teams to improve reliability, reduce flakiness, and strengthen overall release confidence. This is a high-impact role in a fast-moving environment where automation, scalability, and innovation directly shape product quality.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will define, scale, and continuously improve the organization’s testing strategy and automation ecosystem. You will establish clear standards for what is tested, how it is tested, and how quality is enforced across systems and releases. You will also act as a technical leader driving adoption of modern and AI-powered testing practices across engineering teams.

  • Design and own the end-to-end testing strategy, including coverage models, standards, and quality guardrails across API, service, and UI layers
  • Build and evolve scalable test automation frameworks and tooling (e.g., Playwright, API/contract testing, and related technologies)
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring robust gating, execution, and deployment confidence
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted testing tools to improve test creation, debugging, maintenance, and efficiency at scale
  • Define and implement regression, smoke testing, and long-term test library strategies to ensure system reliability
  • Partner with Engineering and Infrastructure teams to improve test environments, stability, and test data management
  • Establish testing metrics and reporting (coverage, reliability, flakiness, execution outcomes) to guide continuous improvement
  • Champion testing standards across teams and enable engineering ownership of quality practices
Requirements

This role requires a strong technical background in software engineering or quality automation, combined with experience driving testing strategy in modern development environments. You should be comfortable working across teams, influencing adoption, and building systems from the ground up in fast-paced settings.

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, test automation engineering, or quality engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with automation across API, service, and UI layers
  • Proven ability to design and scale test frameworks rather than only writing test cases
  • Experience with modern testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, API/contract testing tools, or similar)
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
  • Strong coding ability with experience reviewing and maintaining test codebases
  • Experience defining testing strategy, coverage models, and quality standards across teams
  • Background working closely with Engineering and Product in cross-functional environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience improving test reliability, reducing flakiness, and maintaining scalable test systems
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar) applied to QA workflows
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and building foundational processes
Benefits
  • Competitive base compensation with performance-based bonus eligibility
  • Equity opportunities for eligible roles
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Mental health and wellness support programs
  • Flexible remote work environment (Canada-based)
  • Paid time off, holidays, and flexible vacation policies
  • Retirement and savings plan options
  • Learning and development support for professional growth
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact systems shaping modern digital experiences.
