Job Description
Overview
The Department of Sociology is hiring a predoctoral fellow with experience or training in computational science or a related computational field. The predoctoral fellow will conduct data analysis for research projects on human mobility within and across borders in different regions of the world. The fellow will be responsible for identifying data sources, harmonizing data from different settings, as well as conducting advanced statistical analysis. Expertise in classical statistical estimation as well as machine learning applications is required. The fellow will work on joint research projects with graduate students and principal-investigator faculty.

Responsibilities
Responsiblities include:
- Collecting and harmonizing secondary data on migration flows and collecting weather data
- Analyzing data and modeling (using R or Python)
- Writing reports to synthesize results
- Literature reviews
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent computational field and expertise in coding and statistical analysis is required.
