Position Summary
The Customer Service Representative serves as the first point of contact for guests visiting the Fargo Parks Sports Center. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a welcoming environment, assisting visitors with facility information, and supporting daily operations. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, professional, and enjoys working with people of all ages in a fast-paced recreation environment.
Position Term
This position is anticipated to run through May 2027. Due to seasonal changes in facility operations and reduced summer staffing needs, some positions may conclude at that time. Employees may be considered for continued employment beyond May based on operational needs, availability, and performance; however, continued employment is not guaranteed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet guests as they enter the facility.
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer inquiries professionally and courteously.
- Direct guests to appropriate spaces, programs, and services within the facility.
- Provide information about facility amenities, activities, and policies.
- Process point-of-sale (POS) transactions, including admissions, rentals, and purchases.
- Create and manage reservations for facility spaces and programs.
- Monitor and coordinate open play times and facility usage schedules.
- Respond to customer emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Check in with user groups and facility renters to ensure reservations and activities are running smoothly.
- Assist with birthday party check-ins and other reserved events.
- Monitor the indoor playground and other designated activity areas.
- Enforce facility rules and safety guidelines in a respectful and consistent manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and guest service area.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service, recreation, hospitality, or front desk experience.
- Experience working with reservation or point-of-sale systems.
- Experience working with youth, families, or community recreation programs.
Applicants must be 18 years of age.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Weekday morning availability is a plus.
Applicants should be prepared to work early mornings and/or late nights.
