Job Description

Head of Partnerships

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Partnerships based in the United States.

This is a high-ownership leadership role responsible for building and scaling a strategic partnerships function within a rapidly growing commerce technology business.
You’ll take an established agency partner motion and turn it into a scalable, measurable revenue channel.
The role spans agency partnerships, customer referrals, technology ecosystems, platform relationships, and co-marketing opportunities.
You’ll build relationships with agencies and ecosystem leaders while creating a steady flow of qualified opportunities for the sales organization.
Your work will directly influence pipeline generation, partner-sourced revenue, and the company’s broader growth trajectory.
This is a build-and-run position offering substantial autonomy, clear performance targets, and close collaboration with the founding team.
It’s an ideal opportunity for an experienced partnerships leader who thrives on ownership, commercial accountability, and fast-paced execution.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and scale the agency partner program across retention/CRM, performance, CRO, creator, and related agency categories.
  • Identify, prospect, recruit, and activate high-value agency partners using a structured target list and stage-gate partnership process.
  • Build relationships from agency leadership through hands-on practitioners who influence technology recommendations and purchasing decisions.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of signed agency relationships, including clear goals, regular operating cadences, productivity expectations, partner tiering, and performance reviews.
  • Restructure or discontinue partnerships when they do not generate sufficient commercial value.
  • Generate a consistent flow of qualified partner introductions to the sales organization and maintain accountability for partner-sourced pipeline generation.
  • Manage partner commercial operations, including revenue-share administration, partner tagging, attribution, and commission inputs in collaboration with RevOps.
  • Develop the partner lifecycle beyond initial deals through lead-backs, incentive structures, tiering, and programs designed to increase partner productivity.
  • Own and grow the customer referral program as a dedicated demand-generation channel, including program design, incentives, engagement, and performance.
  • Establish efficient routing processes for partner- and referral-sourced leads to ensure rapid follow-up and accurate attribution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound technology and ecosystem partnership opportunities.
  • Qualify potential technology partnerships and structure referral exchanges, marketplace integrations, install-button opportunities, and co-referral agreements.
  • Develop strategic relationships within key commerce platforms and their surrounding ecosystems, including Shopify, Klaviyo, and relevant technology partners.
  • Build connections with platform practitioners, partner managers, and ecosystem stakeholders who can influence adoption and recommendations.
  • Lead the partnerships component of events, including co-hosted dinners, partner webinars, and agency participation at industry trade shows, in collaboration with Marketing.
  • Track and improve the two core partnership outcomes: qualified introductions per month and partner-sourced closed-won revenue.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience leading agency partnership programs, ideally within commerce, marketing technology, SaaS, e-commerce, CRM, performance marketing, CRO, or a related environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell agencies on becoming partners and subsequently manage and grow a portfolio of active agency relationships.
  • Experience building, launching, or scaling a partner program with clear commercial goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of partnership deal mechanics, including referral structures, incentives, attribution, revenue sharing, partner tiers, and co-selling motions.
  • Established relationships within the Shopify, DTC, e-commerce, and agency ecosystem, with the ability to leverage those relationships to generate opportunities quickly.
  • Strong commercial instincts and the ability to move partnerships from relationship-building into concrete agreements and revenue-producing activity.
  • Demonstrated “hunter” mentality, with the persistence and creativity required to identify opportunities, overcome obstacles, and generate new business through partnerships.
  • Comfortable being directly accountable for measurable targets, including qualified introductions, pipeline contribution, and partner-sourced revenue.
  • Ability to manage multiple partnership types simultaneously, switching effectively between agency relationships, technology partnerships, customer referrals, and platform opportunities.
  • Strong account-management discipline, including setting partner goals, establishing regular cadences, measuring productivity, and taking decisive action when relationships underperform.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with significant autonomy while collaborating closely with Sales, RevOps, Marketing, and executive leadership.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to build processes, programs, and operating structures where they do not yet exist.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly around attribution, partner operations, pipeline management, and commercial reporting.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-growth environment where priorities can evolve quickly.
  • Strong executive presence combined with the ability to build authentic relationships with hands-on practitioners and operators.
Benefits:
  • Opportunity to join a rapidly growing company at an early stage of its expansion and directly influence its trajectory.
  • Ownership of an entire partnerships channel with clear commercial accountability and significant autonomy.
  • Opportunity to build and scale agency, referral, technology, and ecosystem partnership programs.
  • Direct collaboration with the founding team and senior company leadership.
  • High-impact role where partnership performance directly contributes to pipeline, revenue, and growth.
  • Exceptional opportunities for professional development and advancement within a rapidly scaling organization.
  • Remote work opportunity within the United States.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to diversity and creating an environment where employees can do their best work.
  • Opportunity to help shape a new category in customer intelligence and personalization for commerce.
