Position Title: Staff Nurse/Recovery Room
Shift: Day Shift -8:00am.- 4:30pm.
Status: Part-Time
Compensation: $35.00 - $50.00
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.

Position Purpose: Provides basic and advanced respiratory care to patient(s) as prescribed by LIP according to departmental standards/protocols and practices as well as state and national guidelines established for the Respiratory Care Practioner.(ISRC, AARC)
Position Summary
A Post-Anesthesia Care Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care before and after surgical or procedural operations. [1]
Essential Functions
- Assess patients: Review medical history, perform physical exams, and check vital signs.
- Prepare patients: Start IV lines, administer pre-op medications, and verify NPO (fasting) status.
- Verify safety and paperwork: Ensure surgical consent forms are signed and lab results are complete.
- Educate: Explain the surgical process and provide discharge expectations to patients and families.
Post-Operative Duties
- Monitor recovery: Track vital signs and assess the patient's condition as they wake from anesthesia.
- Manage symptoms: Treat post-surgical pain and address nausea or other immediate side effects.
- Watch for complications: Monitor surgical sites for bleeding, infection, or breathing issues.
- Discharge care: Deliver post-care instructions and ensure patients have a safe ride home.
Qualifications & Skills
- License: Valid, active RN license.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and PALS required.
- Experience: Acute care or perioperative/PACU clinical experience is required.
