Job Purpose

The Snow Sport School Lead is responsible for assisting the Snow Sport School Director & Assistant. Their primary responsibility is to assist the instructors with their students and classes while also scheduling/booking students.

Status: Full Time

This is a seasonal position October 14, 2026 - April 14, 2027

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises instructors, classes and private lessons and participating guests when the Snow Sport School Director is or Snow Sport School Assistant is unavailable
  • Upholds the highest levels of guest safety on varied terrain in high altitude, with varying winter weather conditions in a fast paced, potentially high-pressure environment
  • May participate exit evaluations and rehire recommendations
  • Is able to safely navigate uneven and slippery terrain
  • Clearly and accurately instructing assigned levels of skiing or snowboarding to students, both physically and verbally
  • Assisting guests to load and unload the chairlift
  • Communicating instructions and helping guests to their feet during a lesson
  • Working with guests of all ages and abilities
  • When working with children: Supervising children in class at all times; assisting at lunch and snack times; ensuring return of children to identified guardian
  • When working with children: Assisting in operational responsibilities of Ski & Snowboard programs including but not limited to registration process, directing guests to appropriate equipment fitting source, upkeep of outdoor teaching areas, and cleanliness of facilities
  • All other job duties as assigned

Skills and Knowledge Requirements/Competencies:

  • Can pass pre-employment screening
  • Has reliable transportation to be able to carpool/commute
  • Required software knowledge to include, but not limited to: Google suite
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment.
  • Maintains excellent interpersonal relationships
  • Understands the need for meticulous organizational skills
  • Ability to works with guests of all ages three years old to adult
  • Is fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written)
  • Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions
  • Has a clean and welcoming appearance
  • Has excellent guest service and communicative skills
  • Can work comfortably in a diverse and fast paced team environment
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Maintains office, employee and company confidentiality at all times.

  • Professional conduct when dealing with guest and employee complaints that is inline with and supports the company policy, procedure, and message.
  • Must be available throughout the winter season to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring/instruction
  • Knowledge of local area/resort
  • Caring for and/or working with children ages 3+

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience and/or Training: Previous instructing experience

Licenses/Certificates: NA

Technology/Equipment: Computers, smart phones, tablets, Alpine Ski and Snowboard

Physical and Mental demands:

  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50lbs and carry 50 yards
  • Must be able to work outside in temperatures below 32 degrees and up to (8) hours
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for up to (8) hours
  • Must have at least intermediate skiing / snowboarding ability

  • Aerial and surface lifts
  • Skis or Snowboard

  • Regularly work near moving mechanical parts and exposed to outdoor weather conditions and vibration.
