Job Description
The Shipper/Receiver oversees and maintains records of all shipping and receiving activities and is responsible for organizing, sorting, and transferring goods from one location to another.
MAJOR DUTIES- Perform general physical activities to load, unload, sort, and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment.
- Verify, accept, count, and enter all incoming goods into the ERP system, including documenting their condition.
- Pick and pack orders for delivery or transfer.
- Create courier waybills on a daily basis using courier platforms.
- Schedule freight pickups and deliveries.
- Update the status of inbound and outbound orders in the ERP system.
- Contact carrier representatives regarding the shipment and delivery of materials.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies between orders and goods, including delays, condition issues, weight variances, and quality concerns.
- Ensure the accuracy of the quantity and contents of products received and shipped in accordance with approved documentation.
- Perform regular cycle counts and monitor stock levels.
- Restock merchandise as required.
- Process returned goods in a timely manner.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse.
- Interact with customers, couriers, drivers, and other employees in a professional manner.
- Perform driving duties as required. A valid driver's licence is required.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in a similar position.
- Valid Class G driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Certification in lift truck operation is preferred.
- Previous industry experience is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of ISO procedures is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience using various courier software programs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and assume new responsibilities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
