Job Description
General Summary: This position plays an important role in maintaining and repairing our equipment to ensure safe operation. This includes installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components. The Industrial Electrician is a knowledgeable, hardworking and skilled individual.
Essential Functions:
· Responsible for using safety devices and protective equipment and for using safe work practices and methods in the operation of all tools and equipment necessary to complete tasks.
· Maintain, install, troubleshoot and repair electrical/electromechanical component systems for Minning, Asphalt and concrete masonry plant equipment for safe and efficient operations.
· Have the ability to read blueprints and schematics.
· Safely operate motor vehicles and other mobile equipment including man lift, forklift, and others as become necessary in the course of plant repair/maintenance.
· Plan work in an effective manner, and keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
· Responsible for correcting and/or reporting any conditions that may be hazardous to employees, contractors etc.
· Willing to work outside in all types of weather.
· Quickly assess issues during breakdowns and communicates with equipment operators and then applies troubleshooting, diagnostic and knowledge to repair equipment in an efficient manner to reduce downtime.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:Job Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
· 3-5 years of experience as an industrial electrician.
· Thorough knowledge of the principles of electricity and of electrical/electromechanical maintenance methods.
· Knowledge of the rules of safety, especially as they relate to electrical work and standard LOTO procedures.
· Skill in the application of methods used in the trade; use of hand tools, testing equipment, and the safe installation of new and replacement parts.
· Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and to implement that knowledge in safe work practices.
· Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
· Strong understanding of motor control circuits and relay logic
· Basic understanding of PLC’s; ability to read logic and apply to troubleshooting
· Ability to respond to emergency calls after normal working hours.
Work Environment:
· Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.
· The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.
· Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery.
Physical Demands
· Ability to work at heights on aerial lifts, stepladders and/or extension ladders.
· Ability to work in confined spaces.
· Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 90 pounds.
Travel
· May be required to work at various facilities
