Compensation:
  • $20 - $24/hr. based on experience and credentials

Schedule:
  • Full-Time
    • Three shifts per week
    • Overnight schedule

Job Description:

The Overnight Patient Care Veterinary Technician provides exceptional nursing care and technical support to surgical and hospitalized patients during overnight hours. This role works closely with surgeons and the specialty team to ensure patients receive attentive monitoring, pain management, and compassionate care throughout recovery and hospitalization.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate nursing care to surgical and hospitalized patients throughout overnight hospitalization and recovery.
  • Monitor patients closely for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to the veterinary team.
  • Place IV catheters, collect blood samples, administer medications, and maintain IV fluid therapy.
  • Assist with surgical recovery, post-operative pain management, and patient monitoring.
  • Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and accurately document treatments and observations in medical records.
  • Assist with radiographs, patient preparation, and induction support as needed.
  • Safely restrain and handle patients while maintaining comfort and minimizing stress.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment and patient care areas.
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and clients regarding patient care plans.
  • Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and client education as appropriate.
Qualifications:
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) preferred.
  • Experienced Veterinary Technicians are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous specialty, surgery, emergency, or overnight veterinary experience preferred.
  • Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
  • Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, radiology safety, pain management, and post-operative care.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced specialty and surgical environment.
  • Passion for exceptional patient care and outstanding client service.
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required; multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
