General Manager
Pay: $210,000 (DOE)

Thompson Pipe Group – Los Angeles is a privately held family business of engineers, contractors, and manufacturers based in Rialto, California. From our humble beginnings, we built a family of products to meet the needs of all kinds of infrastructure.
Overview:
The General Manager will direct, manage, and optimize the overall operations of Thompson Pipe Group - Los Angeles. This position is responsible for developing and implementing effective business strategies and programs to support, sustain, and enhance the company's business objectives. This position will set policies and make decisions guiding productivity, quality, distribution, and cost efficiency of the company's Rialto, CA operations. The General Manager will ensure robust safety, processes, and training are in place. The General Manger is responsible for operations following all required regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Directs and manages all TPG-Los Angeles business activities and related operations to enhance efficiency.
- Directs manufacturing and production operations, as well as support functions including distribution, maintenance, quality assurance, and safety to ensure alignment with overall operations.
- Create functional strategies and specific objectives, including policies and procedures, to support the functional infrastructure.
- Establishing methods/systems to collect metrics, analyze productivity and set performance targets that will meet revenue and cost goals. Managing data; generating reports and giving presentations.
- Build staff through clear performance expectations, regular feedback, and development planning.
- Evaluating performance and productivity to enhance efficiency and ensuring continuity.
- Creating and managing budgets. Analyzing accounting and financial data.
- Enhancing the company's image and meet overall growth objectives.
- Researching and identifying growth opportunities.
- Ensure leadership decisions translate into sustained operational results through follow-up, verification, and corrective action where needed.
- Works with support teams such as EHS, HR, Maintenance, Logistics, etc.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
Experience Required:
- At least 3 years operations management experience in a manufacturing environment, including the management of teams, product, resources, budget, changes, and quality.
- Experience working in the Industrial Manufacturing industry; preferably construction-related/building material industry.
- Commercial background
- Experience working with all levels of management up to C-level both in working groups and at a representative level
- Experience leading large teams across operations, with the ability to establish clear structure, and delegate effectively through leaders.
- Demonstrates ability to lead teams that take ownership of product quality, setting clear expectations, holding teams accountable, and fostering a culture where quality issues are proactively identified and addressed.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Superior knowledge of business functions - operations, sales, project management
- Strong leadership qualities, lead by example
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal for technical and non- technical audiences.
- Experience with budgeting and financial leadership, including ownership of operating budgets and P&L performance, the ability to analyze financial results, manage costs, and make data-driven decisions.
- High degree of organization and discipline, including the ability to structure priorities, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and ensure consistent follow-through, tracking, and execution.
- Proven ability to manage deliverables during all phases of a product/project life cycle.
- Strong work ethics characterized by ownership, reliability, and constant follow-through, with the ability to work by example.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate attention to detail in managing complex operations, with the ability to identify gaps, ensure accuracy in executions, and reporting, and reinforce standards that protect quality, safety, financial performance, and customer trust.
- Proficient in using MS Office, MS Project, Visio, or equivalent tools.
Must pass Pre-employment Physical and drug test.
