Store Associate in Nashville, Tennessee at Southern Marinas LLC

Position Summary

Four Corners Marina is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Store Associate to join our team. This position plays an important role in creating an exceptional guest experience by assisting customers in our marina store, operating the point-of-sale system, coordinating boat rentals, and providing light dock assistance. The ideal candidate enjoys working both indoors and outdoors, has a positive attitude, and thrives in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Retail and Cashier

* Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.

* Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.

* Process cash, credit card, and mobile payments.

* Stock shelves, coolers, and merchandise displays.

* Maintain a clean, organized, and well-presented retail store.

* Answer customer questions regarding marina services, merchandise, fuel, and amenities.

* Assist with inventory counts and restocking as needed.

Boat Rental Operations

* Assist customers with boat rental reservations and check-in/check-out procedures.

* Explain rental agreements, marina policies, and boating safety guidelines.

* Verify required documentation and collect signatures.

* Conduct pre- and post-rental inspections of rental boats.

* Ensure rental equipment is clean, fueled, and ready for customers.

* Report maintenance or safety concerns to management.

Dock and Marina Support

* Assist customers with docking and departing boats when needed.

* Help secure vessels using proper docking procedures.

* Perform light dockhand duties including:

* Cleaning docks and marina facilities.

* Assisting with fueling operations (following company safety procedures).

* Maintaining dock carts and marina equipment.

* Picking up trash and keeping the marina clean and inviting.

* Assist with seasonal marina events and customer activities.

Customer Service

* Deliver outstanding hospitality to marina guests, boaters, and visitors.

* Resolve routine customer concerns professionally.

* Promote marina memberships, retail items, fuel services, and boat rentals.

* Work collaboratively with all marina departments to ensure excellent guest experiences.

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED preferred.

* Previous retail, cashier, marina, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.

* Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

* Basic computer and POS system knowledge.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to multitask and remain organized during busy periods.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Boating knowledge is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

* Frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

* Bend, stoop, reach, and climb as needed.

* Work safely around docks, boats, and water.

* Ability to work in heat, cold, rain, and other outdoor conditions.

Schedule

* Full-time, year-round position.

* Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts during peak boating season.

* Overtime may be available during busy periods.
