We are currently seeking an experienced:
MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION INTAKE LIAISON
JOB SUMMARY:
- Receive and process inbound trip requests by phone, fax, and online submission from nursing homes, hospitals, discharge planners, case managers, and individual clients.
- Collect and verify all required patient information, including name, date of birth, pickup/drop-off addresses, appointment times, mobility needs, and insurance or billing details.
- Will accurately intake and record all transport appointments, ensuring all scheduling information is complete and organized.
- Utilize transportation management software Facility portal to review appointments.
- Monitor appointments dynamically to accommodate cancellations, urgent add-ons, and delays.
- Communicate trip confirmations, changes, and cancellations to referring facilities, Transportation Scheduling Coordinators, and clients in a timely manner.
- Complete web inquiries promptly, responding to new client requests and directing them through the intake process.
- Completes Quality Assurance monitors according to policies and procedures.
- Assists in maintaining a good working relationship with the community, hospital, physician offices and other health care facilities and agencies and assuring coordination of services for residents/clients.
- Intake and scheduling of all appointments and transportation requests is the primary duty of this position.
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age, must be of good moral character, and have a genuine concern for the elderly and disabled.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a medical, healthcare, or transportation setting preferred
- Experience in a customer service or call center environment a plus
- Must be willing to work with various department directors, patients, family members, and community health care providers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software
- Must maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Must have the ability to plan, organize, and follow-up on work assignments.
- Must have the ability to make independent decisions and work well under pressure.
- Must have the ability to be flexible in performing diverse tasks
