We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Petroleum Construction Laborer to support the installation, repair, and maintenance of petroleum fuel-storage and dispensing systems at customer and company locations.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with construction, mechanical, maintenance, or other technical experience who enjoys working as part of a team and learning specialized petroleum construction skills.
What You'll Do
• Perform a variety of manual labor and construction-support tasks based on project requirements and daily crew assignments.
• Assist with the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of fuel-product lines, fuel dispensers, piping, and related petroleum equipment within your training and authorization.
• Cut, thread, fit, and install fuel piping as required for assigned projects.
• Safely operate machinery, hand tools, power tools, and other equipment for which you are trained and authorized.
• Assist with material handling, jobsite setup and cleanup, equipment movement, and other activities necessary to keep projects moving efficiently.
• Work closely with the Petroleum Construction Foreman and other crew members to complete assigned projects safely, accurately, and on schedule.
• Follow company procedures, project requirements, and applicable safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Read and follow safety manuals, work instructions, equipment information, and other job-related documents.
• Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.
• Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, spills, incidents, or other jobsite hazards.
• Follow written and verbal instructions provided by the Foreman or other authorized project leadership.
• Communicate professionally with employees, customers, vendors, contractors, and other business partners as needed.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance and report to work as scheduled.
• Perform other related duties as assigned based on business and project needs.
What We're Looking For
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical services, construction, general maintenance, or related hands-on technical work required.
• Experience with petroleum construction, fuel piping, fuel dispensers, or related equipment is preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable under company policy.
• CDL Class A is preferred where applicable to assigned duties.
• Ability to safely operate, or learn to operate, machinery, hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, safety requirements, and jobsite procedures.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, adaptability, attention-to-detail, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew and take direction from project leadership.
• Ability to successfully complete job-related pre-employment screening required by company policy, including drug testing when applicable and permitted by law.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on construction position. Work is performed primarily at petroleum construction, customer, and company locations and may require extended hours outdoors in varying weather conditions. The position may involve exposure to dust, fumes, high noise levels, uneven surfaces, active construction areas, moving equipment and machinery, ladders and elevated work areas. The position may require lifting equipment or materials weighing up to approximately 60 pounds, pushing or pulling up to approximately 75 pounds, and climbing ladders with multiple rungs. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
