POSITION SUMMARY |
The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring the flow of materials and resources to ensure efficient and timely production. This role works closely with operations, purchasing, engineering, and quality teams to optimize schedules, minimize downtime, and meet customer demand while maintaining cost efficiency. |
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: | Essential Function |
Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules to meet customer demands and production goals. | |
Adjust schedule proactively to respond to unexpected changes such as equipment breakdowns, supply chain disruptions or urgent orders. | |
Collaborate with supervisors and team leaders, supply chain, quality control and warehouse teams ensure resources (labor, machines, tools) are allocated effectively | |
Present daily/weekly schedule with stakeholders from operations, purchasing, engineering and quality. Receive feedback and adjust the schedule based on stakeholders’ needs | |
Support inventory management by aligning production schedules with target inventory levels | |
Attend customer meetings to gain understanding of their needs and be able to answer scheduling related questions | |
Coordinate with customer service to proactively manage on time delivery to customers | |
Address production disruptions by analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, labor constraints and build recover plans | |
Monitor production costs to ensure processes remain within budget and identify opportunities for cost reduction | |
Prepare and distribute weekly/monthly production reports for management | |
Perform other tasks as required |
Additional REQUIRED Qualifications/Skills: |
1. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis) |
2. Strong knowledge of ERP/MES systems |
3. Superior communication skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing. |
4. Ability to analyze data, forecasts and production performance to make informed decisions |
5. Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues, assess situations and recommend solutions |
6. Excellent time management and organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks and projects |
7. Associates Degree or 1-5 years of experience as a Production Planner |

Additional PREFERRED Qualifications/Skills: |
1. 5 -10 years’ experience as a Production Planner in a manufacturing environment |
2. Proficient in Power query and Power BI |
3. Technical writing using Microsoft word and PowerPoint |
