Job Description
Position Summary
The Automotive Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance services and conducting basic vehicle inspections in accordance with manufacturer specifications and dealership standards. This entry-level position plays a critical role in maintaining vehicle performance, safety, and guest satisfaction by delivering timely, accurate, and high-quality maintenance services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid inspections, filter replacements, battery testing, and lubrication services.
- Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections and report findings to the Service Advisor.
- Inspect and maintain tire pressures, fluid levels, belts, hoses, and other basic vehicle components.
- Replace windshield wipers, air filters, cabin filters, and other maintenance-related components.
- Safely operate lifts, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services performed on repair orders.
- Ensure all work is completed according to manufacturer and dealership standards.
- Keep work area, tools, and shop equipment clean, organized, and in proper working condition.
- Follow all OSHA, environmental, and dealership safety policies and procedures.
- Assist Service Technicians with basic shop tasks as needed.
- Participate in training programs to develop technical and diagnostic skills.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards established by the dealership.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Basic automotive knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to learn vehicle maintenance procedures and dealership processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous automotive, mechanical, or maintenance experience preferred but not required.
- Automotive technical school enrollment or completion is a plus.
- Entry-level candidates with a desire to develop an automotive career are encouraged to apply.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work on vehicles for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Ability to work under vehicles and in varying shop conditions.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an automotive service shop with exposure to vehicle noise, exhaust fumes, chemicals, and moving equipment in a fast-paced environment.
