Position Summary
The Automotive Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance services quickly, accurately, and safely while delivering exceptional guest service. This entry-level technician position focuses on preventive maintenance services, vehicle inspections, and supporting the service department's commitment to quality workmanship and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the automotive service industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and lubrication services.
- Complete tire rotations, tire pressure inspections, and basic tire maintenance.
- Inspect vehicle fluid levels, belts, hoses, batteries, and other maintenance-related components.
- Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections and report findings to the Service Advisor or Shop Foreman.
- Replace wiper blades, air filters, cabin filters, light bulbs, and other basic maintenance items.
- Ensure all maintenance services are performed according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
- Maintain accurate service records and document all work performed.
- Safely operate vehicles within the service department and dealership property.
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in proper working condition.
- Follow all dealership safety policies, OSHA requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Assist Service Technicians and other service department personnel as needed.
- Participate in dealership training programs and ongoing development opportunities.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with guests and coworkers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous automotive maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
- Automotive technical training or vocational education is a plus.
- Entry-level candidates with a strong desire to learn are encouraged to apply.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and work underneath vehicles for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, and automotive service equipment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and shop conditions.
- Manual dexterity required to perform automotive maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a fast-paced automotive service department with exposure to moving vehicles, automotive fluids, chemicals, equipment noise, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment may be required when performing certain job duties.
