Responsibilities

The Processing Tech I supports patient safety and quality care by performing essential tasks in the decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role ensures all instruments are processed according to established infection control and regulatory standards, contributing to reliable operations and positive patient outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.High school diploma or GED.None required; on-the-job training providedNone required at hire; certification such as CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) may be required within 12-18 months of hire, in accordance with organizational policy

Qualifications

Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician training program Prior experience in a healthcare or sterile processing environment CRCST or CSPDT certification at time of hire
