Scot Forge is seeking an IT Data Science and Business Intelligence Intern for Summer 2027 at our corporate facility in Spring Grove, Illinois.

As an IT Data Science and Business Intelligence Intern, you'll gain practical experience working with data, analytics platforms, reporting tools, and machine learning technologies that support business and operational decision-making.

What You'll Do

As an IT Data Science and Business Intelligence Intern, you may:

• Analyze data and help solve business problems using analytical frameworks
• Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations for business users
• Support data integration and data pipeline initiatives
• Work with data models and business intelligence tools
• Participate in AI, machine learning, and large language model (LLM) projects
• Partner with users and mentors to gather requirements and deliver solutions

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field
• Rising Junior or higher at the start of the internship
• Experience with Python, R, or similar data analysis tools
• Experience creating data visualizations and presenting findings
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data transformation or ETL processes
• Exposure to machine learning concepts and model development
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
• Experience working with generative AI or large language model technologies
• Knowledge of cloud-based analytics or modern data platforms

Additional Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment hair follicle drug screen

Compensation

The estimated pay range for this position is the lowest and highest range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We ultimately may pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. The actual base pay offered to a candidate will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, geographic location and prevailing minimum wage, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.
