Job Description

ERP Developer & AI Automation Specialist (Epicor / SQL)
Signtech Electrical Advertising, Inc. · San Diego, CA · Full-time · On-site
Salary: $135,000 per year + [bonus/benefits]

About us

Signtech Electrical Advertising, Inc. is an established San Diego Sign Manufacturing company with 160 employees. We run our business on Epicor ERP and are looking for a technical professional to own our ERP development and lead our use of AI to work smarter.

The role
You’ll be our in-house programmer, the go-to technical person for Epicor, reporting, and automation. Day-to-day IT infrastructure is handled by an outsourced partner, so your focus is on building tools and improving how we work. Our previous programmer is available as a consultant to help with the transition, so you won’t be starting from scratch.

What you’ll do

  • Write and maintain MSSQL queries and reports from our Epicor ERP database (BAQs, SSRS, dashboards)
  • Customize and extend Epicor to fit our business processes (BPMs, Epicor Functions, UI customizations)
  • Lead the technical side of ERP upgrades and our upcoming migration, working with Epicor and our IT partner
  • Find opportunities to apply AI and automation across departments, then build and deploy practical solutions
  • Partner with managers and staff to understand their needs and turn them into working tools
  • Document your work so systems are maintainable and well understood
  • Create and maintain web apps using MS Visual Studio in a Windows server

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with Epicor ERP (Kinetic or E10 preferred)
  • Strong MSSQL skills, including writing complex queries and reports
  • Strong skills in VB.Net or C#.
  • Practical experience building with AI tools (e.g., LLM APIs, AI-assisted automation, workflow tools)
  • Comfortable working independently as a team of one: you set priorities, manage your own projects, and follow through
  • A good listener and clear communicator who can explain technical topics to non-technical people

Why join us

  • Real ownership: your work will directly shape how a 160-person company operates
  • The chance to lead AI adoption at a stable, growing company
  • [Benefits: medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, PTO, etc.]
