Job Description

Description:

Purpose: Responsible for the overall financial administration of the practice, including general accounting, data processing and financial reporting for the practice. Functions at an executive level in an active leadership role.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the CEO and Accounting Team to shape strategic direction by providing input on the company’s business plan, financial and tax strategies, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Develop performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction.
  • Assists in overseeing acquisition due diligence and negotiations.
  • Prepares monthly P&Ls and additional financial reports as requested by CEO and Board.
  • Asset management, including depreciation schedules.
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile.
  • Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry; ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements as related to financial practices. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments related to financial operations.
  • Advise Operations on needed insurance coverage and limits for property and risk management. Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts; arrange for debt and equity financing; invest funds; maintain banking relations. Establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective problem solver; be viewed as approachable and as a mentor on financial issues.
  • Liaison to external CPA firm for corporate tax needs.
  • Advise on payroll state and federal guidelines, assist in annual 401(k) audit, and advise on matching/profit sharing strategies.
  • Works with corporate legal to draft and execute agreements; such as leases, and employment contracts.
  • Maintains rent roll for parent and all related entities.
  • Report to Texas annual escheat funds.
Requirements:

SKILLS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field required
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Requires 5-7 years of experience as an Assistant CFO or VP of Finance.
  • Requires experience in overseeing a multi-entity corporate structure.
  • CPA licensed preferred
  • Merger and acquisition experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency. 10+ years of practical experience using Excel for building and maintaining financial models.
  • An ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of managing full-cycle Accounting within Quickbooks or similar platforms.
