About The Role
PMI is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Clerk to join our Payroll team at our Corporate Office in Port Lavaca, Texas. In this role, you will help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time by maintaining payroll records, processing payroll-related changes, and providing support to employees with payroll inquiries.
This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys working with numbers, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail. You will work closely with payroll leadership and team members to support day-to-day payroll operations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data
- Updating payroll records, including employee status changes, tax exemptions, benefits, and payroll deductions
- Researching and resolving payroll discrepancies
- Responding to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner
- Ensuring payroll processes are completed in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Assisting with payroll reporting and recordkeeping
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Payroll Lead or Payroll Manager
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Experience with payroll and/or accounting software
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong mathematical reasoning and analytical skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information
- Reliable, trustworthy, and dependable with consistent attendance
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Must be within reasonable commuting distance of Port Lavaca, Texas
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous payroll processing experience
- Experience with timekeeping systems or workforce management software
- Experience in an accounting, payroll, or clerical support role
- Proficiency with 10-key data entry
