Accounting Manager (Individual Contributor)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Accounting Manager (Individual Contributor) based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to drive accounting transformation while supporting critical financial close and consolidation activities.
You will help improve processes, enhance scalability, and strengthen operational excellence across a modern accounting organization.
The position combines hands-on accounting expertise with strategic project leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.
You will play a key role in optimizing close processes, implementing automation, and building frameworks that improve efficiency and accuracy.
Working closely with Finance, Tax, Legal, Technology, and other stakeholders, you will influence how accounting operations evolve and scale.

Accountabilities:

The Accounting Manager (Individual Contributor) will support financial transformation initiatives while owning key accounting activities within the close and consolidation function. This role requires a balance of technical accounting knowledge, project leadership, process optimization skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

  • Lead and support close optimization initiatives by identifying manual processes, developing improvement roadmaps, and implementing scalable solutions.
  • Own close management activities, including communications, coordination, tracking, and operational frameworks that support timely completion.
  • Maintain and improve accounting templates, documentation, and processes used across the organization.
  • Lead recurring accounting programs related to close management, consolidation, and process standardization.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting programs and collaborate with Tax, Legal, Treasury, and Compliance teams to ensure accurate execution of agreements.
  • Support strategic finance initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, entity creation, reorganizations, and related accounting activities.
  • Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks to support compliance requirements.
  • Create financial analysis and performance metrics that provide visibility into close processes and improvement opportunities.
  • Own accounting activities for assigned close areas, including expense accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Review intercompany transactions across assigned entities to ensure accurate settlements and compliance with applicable agreements.
  • Prepare and review monthly fluctuation analyses, close documentation, and supporting schedules.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive alignment, improve processes, and support broader accounting objectives.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise combined with experience improving processes, managing complex financial operations, and leading cross-functional initiatives. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can operate independently while influencing stakeholders across Finance and business teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a large public company or complex corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial close processes, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity consolidation.
  • Experience with international subsidiaries and transfer pricing processes is preferred.
  • Strong ability to prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial documentation with a high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting cross-functional projects and strategic accounting initiatives.
  • Proven ability to identify process improvements, automate workflows, and develop scalable solutions.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, Tax, FP&A, Legal, and Technology teams.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience with Workday Financials, large ERP systems, or similar financial data tools is preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to create structure in complex situations.

  • Competitive annual base salary range of $94,700–$159,300 or $99,700–$159,300 depending on location.
