Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Cashier is to ensure efficient and effective guest service and experience while assisting guests with their purchases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.
- Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service.
- Build rapport with guests in order to ensure optimal sales.
- Selling of wine club memberships, wine products, featured wines, and merchandise.
- Describe wines in order to educate and promote WCW wines.
- Display responsible behavior of alcohol consumption laws.
- Demonstrate professionalism to guests, staff and management.
- Assists to maintain cleanliness of the gift shop merchandise and area.
- Assists Merchandiser with merchandising duties in the gift shop as needed.
- Displays good judgment in exercising allowable discounts.
- Assists with stocking all deli items.
- Assist in member check in.
- Handle Wine Club member shipment pick up.
- Upper Room/Library Hosting
- Reservation check in
- Buss tables and additional side work
- Cross train on Library Host duties, including but not limited to, seating guests, making reservations, etc.
- Upper Room Food Expo/Runner
- Prepares small plates for Wine Club Member Lounge and Library
- Orders food for Upper Room Kitchen
- Serves and busses tables in Upper Room and Library
- Any other duty as assigned by management.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED:
- Be 21 years of age or older.
- Be able to communicate and understand English.
- Must be able to describe WCW wines.
- Must obtain a RBS certification within sixty (60) days of hire.
- Must have a valid Riverside County Food Handlers (RFH) Card within seven (7) days of hire.
- Must have a valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification within thirty (30) days of hire.
- Possess excellent computer skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
- Must have excellent guest service skills with professional appearance and outstanding communication skills.
- Must have ability to develop guest relationships and be sales-oriented.

The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee must be able to communicate effectively and perceive auditory and visual cues in a dynamic environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up 25 pounds. This position involves work in both indoor and outdoor environments where temperatures may fluctuate.
