Business Immigration Paralegal Role
As a business immigration paralegal, you will handle business-immigration matters from start to finish, including PERM labor certifications, J-1 waivers, H-1Bs, I-140s, Employment-Based Adjustment of Status filings, and related filings. You will work closely with attorneys and our legal team to deliver accurate, timely, and organized case work that supports clients across the U.S. This role requires strong writing, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and timely file employment-based petitions and applications (PERM, J-1 waivers, I-140s, H-1Bs, Employment-Based Adjustment of Status).
- Organize, review, and summarize client documents with high accuracy.
- Draft forms, letters, case summaries, and responses to RFEs and NOIDs.
- Correspond frequently with clients about their case.
- Communicate with employers, and federal agencies professionally and promptly.
- Record billable hours and time block work calendar.
- Maintain case calendars, track deadlines, and manage document workflows.
- Conduct fact-gathering and legal research as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned and takes necessary measures to ensure the success of the Badmus & Associates Team.
Qualifications for Business Immigration Paralegal
- Minimum three years of business-immigration paralegal experience required.
- Strong knowledge of PERM, employment-based filings, and agency procedures.
- Excellent writing, organization, and time-management skills.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and with a team.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to outstanding client service.
- An associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred, but can substitute relevant experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills: eager-to-learn, outgoing, positive, energetic person with a can-do attitude; ability to interface effectively with coworkers, clients and vendors.
- Able to balance effectively working independently and being a team player.
- Computer skills and strong data management skills including use of the internet search, case management software, and email applications, and familiarity with fundamental computer and network operations.
- Excellent word processing skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and familiarity with PowerPoint. Typing minimum of 50 WPM.
- Outstanding organizational skills, with an emphasis on detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills (including strong grammar and proofreading skills).
- Creative problem solver.
- Demonstrate strong personal initiative.
- Able to handle multiple priorities.
