POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Peri-anesthesia RN Manager

Functions and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for providing patient care for GI, Pain management, and surgical patients throughout the pre-operative and post-operative phases, and additionally have some Preadmission responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

License:

Must hold a current Wisconsin State nursing license.

Certification:

Must obtain BLS and ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Experience:

Two years of med/surg nursing experience is preferred, ideally in an ambulatory surgery center. PACU experience highly desired.

• Maintains required professional license and/or certifications. Observes all safety precautions and complies with all health and safety rules and procedures of the facility.
• Participates in quality assurance monitoring. Attends and participates in in-service programs, communication groups, and staff meetings.
• Communicates and interacts with patients, family members, and peers in a positive, team oriented, and supportive manner.
• Demonstrates current comprehensive and professional knowledge and skills related to nursing standards.
• Ensures appearance and conduct are always professional.
