Senior Underwriter at AMERITRUST AUTO LLC – Fort Worth, Texas

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to evaluate and decision consumer retail and lease applications submitted by franchise and independent dealerships. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of auto lending guidelines, credit risk evaluation, and deal structuring, with the ability to exercise sound judgment while adhering to AmeriTrust's credit policies and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze consumer credit applications and associated documentation for lease and retail auto finance deals.
• Review credit bureau reports, income verification, employment, residency, collateral, and stipulations to make timely and accurate credit decisions.
• Structure deals in accordance with company risk appetite and program guidelines.
• Clearly document rationale for approvals, counteroffers, or declines in the Lease and Loan Origination System (LOS).
• Maintain knowledge of AmeriTrust credit policies, compliance requirements, and state-specific finance laws.
• Collaborate with funding and dealer relations teams to ensure smooth transaction flow and turnaround.
• Communicate effectively with dealers to clarify application details and provide feedback on decisioning.
• Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate suspicious activity when appropriate.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to credit policy or workflow.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience underwriting auto finance applications (retail and/or lease).
• Deep knowledge of credit reports, credit scoring models, and financial document review.
• Familiarity with indirect auto finance and dealership operations.
• Proficient in Lease and Retail credit structuring.
• Experience with automated decision engines and LOS platforms (RouteOne, Dealertrack, etc.).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload under pressure.

High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Preferred Attributes

• Knowledge of residual based finance, lease definitions, and third-party tools (e.g., ALG, LexisNexis).
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
