Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Engineer to join our team. This role will support both R&D initiatives and manufacturing engineering activities, providing hands-on involvement in process improvement, product development, and day-to-day technical support. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a dynamic production environment and contribute to projects that drive innovation and efficiency within our plastic card manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development, testing, and validation of new materials, products, and processes for plastic card manufacturing.
- Support R&D projects by preparing test plans, collecting data, and analyzing results.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in process optimization initiatives to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Help with equipment setup, process documentation, and operator training when required.
- Maintain accurate records of trials, experiments, and engineering changes.
- Work cross-functionally with quality, procurement, and production teams to support new product introductions and material qualifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- 0–2 years of engineering experience (internship or co-op experience is an asset).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on aptitude with machinery, tools, and production processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to CAD or data analysis tools is an asset.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to both R&D and manufacturing engineering disciplines.
