The Manufacturing Engineer drives process improvement, innovation, and operational excellence within our aluminum extrusion fabrication operations. This role supports CNC machining and fabrication processes while leading tooling, equipment, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position also supports APQP/PPAP requirements and helps ensure efficient, customer-focused operations across automotive and other industries.

The Manufacturing Engineer drives process improvement, innovation, and operational excellence within our aluminum extrusion fabrication operations. This role supports CNC machining and fabrication processes while leading tooling, equipment, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position also supports APQP/PPAP requirements and helps ensure efficient, customer-focused operations across automotive and other industries.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Lead the development, validation, and optimization of machining and fabrication processes
- Drive new equipment, tooling, fixtures, and gauges from concept through launch and handoff to operations
- Own process documentation, including flow diagrams, work instructions, and specifications
- Establish and maintain process parameters to hit quality and cycle time targets
- Support new product launches through APQP and PPAP
- Lead or contribute to PFMEA, control plans, MSA, and capability studies
- Coordinate production trials, validation, and final PPAP submissions
- Troubleshoot machining, fabrication, and assembly issues
- Partner with production, quality, and maintenance to improve uptime and reliability
- Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve OEE, throughput, and cost
- Implement lean tools such as 5S, SMED, and error-proofing
- Use data (SPC, Pareto, time studies) to prioritize and drive improvements
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer requirements
- Support audits and maintain strong process and safety standards
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a hands-on manufacturing professional who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys turning complex challenges into practical solutions.
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- Strong experience with CNC machining and fabrication processes including cutting, drilling, punching, and bending
- Knowledge of quality and process tools including GD&T, SPC, APQP, PFMEA, MSA, and PPAP
- Experience using CAD/CAM platforms such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Mastercam
- A collaborative mindset with strong communication and project management skills to drive process improvements and support projects from concept to production
Preferred Experience
- 7+ years in a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in a Manufacturing or Process Engineering role
- Experience in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive manufacturing environment
- Aluminum extrusion fabrication experience and exposure to both automotive and non-automotive applications are considered strong assets
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification is an asset
Education & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering required; Master’s degree or equivalent experience is an asset
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship
