About This Position
About the Role
The Senior Accountant supports the financial management of Famicos Foundation and its entities, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This position ensures timely, accurate, and transparent financial operations through reporting, compliance, and oversight of accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with CFO to prepare partnership reports and monitor the financial status of all properties.
• Manage monthly financial close processes and prepare reports for internal and external deadlines.
• Oversee payroll system and assist with new hire training.
• Review contracts, pricing agreements, and building service agreements.
• Assist with annual budget preparation and grant proposal financials.
• Reconcile accounts and prepare documentation for year-end audits and tax returns.
• Collaborate with property management teams on rent collections and accounts payable processing.
• Support implementation and ongoing use of Yardi Voyager and QuickBooks.
• Complete special projects assigned by CFO or Executive Director.
Qualifications
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5 to 7 years of accounting experience; real estate industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Yardi Voyager, QuickBooks, or other accounting systems.
• Familiarity with HUD, LIHTC, and CDC regulations in Cleveland preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and payroll processing.
Skills and Attributes

• Excellent communication and financial analysis skills.
• Leadership and coaching ability to guide staff effectively.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
