General Maintenance Worker/Driver at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum – Farmingdale, New York

We are seeking General Maintenance Workers to join our team and assist with keeping the grounds in their beautiful, serene state, all while helping with the preparation and conduction of burials.

Please note that this is a seasonal/temporary position starting on or around March 2026

Job Duties:
Pick up and clean debris, weeds and other cleaning and maintenance activities as needed (pick-up soil, snow, leaves, etc.)
Perform gardening and landscaping tasks throughout the cemetery
Operate equipment such as tampers, jackhammers, bronze trimmers, and other heavy equipment as needed
Lift and move bronze memorials, cement foundations, sod, plywood, etc.
Carry caskets during internments and entombments, as required during the day-to-day cemetery operations
Minimum Requirements:
Must be ready, willing and able to work weekends
Must possess a valid, unexpired Driver's License
Must be able to comprehend and communicate effectively in English
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work outdoors under any weather conditions
Must be able to remain on feet for continuous periods of time
Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
Must be able to walk considerable distances during the course of the work-shift
Must be able to lift, rise and lower objects from one level to another
Must be able to pull, push, and carry large amounts of weight (50-100 lbs.) at any given time

Pay Rate: $27.51 per hour
