JOB TITLE: Bartender
PAY: $10/HR plus tips
DEPARTMENT: F&B Bartender
REPORTS TO: Marina General Manager (“GM”)
THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION FROM MAY UNTIL SEPTEMBER- YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE DURATION OF THE SEASON.
Job Summary:
The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. Working in a lakeside setting, this role combines high-quality customer service with attention to detail and responsible alcohol service. The bartender ensures a clean, well-stocked bar and contributes to a welcoming and enjoyable lakeside dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with restaurant recipes and customer preferences
Greet guests warmly and engage in friendly, professional conversation
Monitor and control alcohol consumption to ensure responsible service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, including glassware, bar tools, and surfaces
Restock bar inventory (liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, etc.) as needed throughout the shift
Process guest orders accurately using POS system; handle cash and credit transactions
Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage menu items to make recommendations and pairings
Adhere to local and state alcohol service laws and company safety policies
Collaborate with waitstaff and kitchen team to ensure timely service
Check IDs to verify legal drinking age
Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism, escalating when necessary
Assist with bar setup and breakdown at opening and closing of shifts
Qualifications:
Minimum age: 19
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous bartending or hospitality experience required; lakeside or outdoor venue experience is a plus
Knowledge of mixology, beer, wine, and spirits
Must possess or obtain any required state/local alcohol server certifications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, outdoor or semi-outdoor environment
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
Work Environment:
Fast-paced restaurant/bar located on or near a lake
Exposure to outdoor elements such as heat, humidity, or inclement weather
May involve high foot traffic, live music, or boat traffic during peak times
Team-oriented setting focused on guest satisfaction and safety
