Job Title: QA Technician 1st Shift

Job Location: Dayton, Tennessee (no relocation offered for this position)

FLSA Status: Office Hourly - Indirect

Shift: Monday thru Thursday (4/10 schedule)

On-Site position, no virtual or remote work

Position Summary:

The Quality Technician supports the Quality Assurance team by performing inspections, tests, and audits on RV appliance components and finished products, including furnaces and water heaters. This role ensures compliance with internal specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections sheet metal, assemblies, and finished appliances or purchased products.
  • Perform dimensional checks and visual inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other tools.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for non-conformances.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality documentation.
  • Support PPAP, FAI, and control plan activities for new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supplier quality teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Operate and maintain testing equipment, including tensile testers and leak testers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing projects.
  • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role, preferably in metal fabrication or appliance assembly.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quality software (e.g., SPC, Minitab).
