Are you passionate about giving back to your community and making a lasting difference in the lives of young people?
Who We Are:
In 1922, Woodcraft Rangers opened its doors in Los Angeles and began its mission of guiding young people as they explore pathways to purposeful lives. As a progressive organization, Woodcraft has always been responsive to the evolving needs of the communities served, and is notably inclusive, youth-led, and rooted in the Woodcraft Way, a holistic framework that develops body, mind, spirit, and service. Continuously at the forefront of expanded learning opportunities, Woodcraft Rangers has a rich history of making a significant impact in the greater Los Angeles area, believing that all youth are innately good, deserve the opportunity to realize their full potential, and should be an active participant in defining their own path.
What We Do:
Woodcraft Rangers provides TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, specialty enrichment, and summer learning. In the past few years, Woodcraft has expanded its menu of services beyond traditional afterschool programs and summer camps to include early learning, environmental and social justice, college access, and inclusion services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Additionally, we offer LifeCraft, a college and career advancement program to support the development of approximately 2,250 staff. Today, Woodcraft Rangers serves more than 30,000 youth ages 4 to 18 each year across 150+ Title I schools in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties, and continues to expand its reach.
Ideal Candidate:
You believe that every candidate interaction is a reflection of who Woodcraft Rangers is. You are someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and genuinely enjoys the hunt — building relationships, uncovering talent, and guiding candidates through a process that feels personal, not transactional. You move with urgency, stay organized across multiple open roles, and bring both warmth and professionalism to every touchpoint. This role is on the front lines of Woodcraft Rangers' ability to hire qualified, mission-aligned staff across Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley, and the Inland Empire. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is a key driver of pipeline health, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes, partnering closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager and Hiring Managers to meet staffing goals across all seasons.
Responsibilities:

Build and maintain a healthy, year-round pipeline of qualified candidates for recurring and anticipated staffing needs
Conduct initial phone and video screens to assess candidate qualifications, availability, and alignment with Woodcraft Rangers' mission and culture
Coordinate and schedule all interviews — phone, video, and in-person — between candidates and Hiring Managers or interview panels
Manage candidate communications throughout the full recruitment lifecycle, ensuring timely, professional, and encouraging touchpoints at every stage
Champion a positive, equitable, and welcoming candidate experience from first contact through onboarding handoff
Represent Woodcraft Rangers at job fairs, community events, campus recruiting sessions, and hiring events — managing logistics and converting attendance into pipeline
Post and manage job listings across internal and external platforms, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment
Track, analyze, and act on recruiting metrics (e.g., applicant volume, time-to-fill, source effectiveness, interview-to-offer ratios) to continuously improve hiring outcomes
Partner with the Talent Acquisition Manager to execute season-aligned hiring plans and surface pipeline risks or bottlenecks in a timely manner
Leverage ATS, project management, and AI tools to manage workflows, track requisitions, and improve efficiency
Provide recruiting and administrative support during peak hiring seasons or team absence
