Overview
The Keller Center for Innovation in Engineering Education seeks an energetic, selfmotivated professional to oversee the execution and marketing of center activities and outreach efforts. This position oversees communications efforts across print, web, and social media platforms and manages event planning and execution for all center programs and activities. The Keller Center is a dynamic hub dedicated to fostering meaningful societal impact by catalyzing innovative educational experiences, supporting excellence and responsibility in design and entrepreneurship, and strengthening partnerships across campus and beyond.
The Communications and Events Specialist plays a key role in the center’s administrative operations and supports the execution of missioncritical programs.

The Keller Center has on average 15-20 affiliated faculty, 1-2 visiting faculty, and several administrative staff. The Keller Center offers 25+ courses and 2 academic minors.
Responsibilities
Communications Management:
- Design marketing and promotional materials for events and develop/edit other center publications.
- Develop and manage social media content to highlight center programs, mission, news, and faculty/student achievements.
- Draft, edit, and publish written content showcasing center accomplishments, impact, and activities.
- Coordinate marketing strategies to promote center initiatives and events.
- Collaborate with the center's leadership positions to create and maintain a social media strategy and guidelines for the center.
- Conduct regular reviews of engagement metrics and analytics to assess and improve outreach effectiveness.
Events Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of center events, including meetings, conferences, workshops, information sessions, and special programs.
- Manage all event logistics, such as securing venues, coordinating publicity, arranging audiovisual and technical support, and organizing catering and other operational needs.
- Partner with the Manager of Finance and Administration to develop event budgets and ensure alignment with university expense policies.
Web Content Management:
- Serve as the primary editor for the center’s public website, including posting news items, events, and other updates.
- Create and maintain web pages for conferences and other center events.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience
- Excellent organizational, and time-management skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
- Ability to set/adhere to key project deadlines
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and work both independently and as a team member with minimal supervision
- A collegial, positive attitude, along with a proactive, collaborative working style
- Proficiency in computing tools and software, including email, internet, MS Office, social media platforms, WordPress, Adobe suite, website management tools, slack, MIRO, etc.
