We are currently seeking an experienced:
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER I
FULL-TIME
JOB SUMMARY:
- Develops, tests, and maintains software features and bug fixes for in-house applications under the direction of senior engineers.
- Writes clean, well-documented, and testable code following established coding standards and design patterns.
- Participates in code reviews, incorporating feedback to continuously improve code quality.
- Assists in troubleshooting and resolving software defects in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with Software Tester/Analysts and other team members to ensure quality deliverables.
- Contributes to technical documentation, including code comments, design notes, and process guides.
- Participates in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
- Learns and applies best practices for secure coding, performance optimization, and scalability.
- Works with databases using database tools (SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Redgate, etc.) and technologies to support application data needs under guidance.
- Utilizes common team technologies and tools in day-to-day work, including Angular/TypeScript, C#/.NET, SQL Server/SSMS, Git, Azure, and the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence).
- Communicates progress, blockers, and status updates effectively to the team.
- Leverages AI-assisted development tools and emerging technologies to augment productivity as directed.
- Ensures compliance with departmental methodologies and software development best practices.
- Provides testing notes and technical context for accurate validation of features.
- Triages and provides operational support on a rotating basis.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 1+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C# and TypeScript.
- In the absence of formal education, an equivalent of 3+ years’ experience is acceptable.
- 1+ years of experience in agile software development.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) is a plus.
- Experience in healthcare or post-acute care environment preferred. Foundational understanding of computer languages, both conceptually and in practice, including but not limited to TypeScript, C#, and SQL.
- Basic understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Familiarity with software version control systems (Git) and software development lifecycle tools and methodologies such as Azure DevOps and the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence).
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Basic understanding of sensitive data management and governance practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (Azure preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrates composure and a positive attitude under high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and other required software applications.
