Opening the first location in Tallahassee on Monroe St. Slim Chickens has expanded and grown to include two locations in Tallahassee and five additional across the panhandle of Florida.

Team Kalo, which employs almost 1000 people, owns and operates each of its locations and through its management company, Kalo Restaurant Group, LLC (KRG), provides the management, operational and administrative support for all of its locations. Team Kalo is building on its past success and expanding its own footprint throughout the southeast.

About the Role:

The Assistant General Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager to ensure the seamless operation of the hotel. This position is responsible for overseeing daily activities across multiple departments, ensuring high standards of hospitality, safety, and operational efficiency. The Assistant General Manager contributes to strategic planning, particularly in pre-opening phases, and implements yield management techniques to maximize revenue. They are instrumental in identifying and resolving operational challenges, maintaining food cost controls, and enforcing safety procedures to protect guests and staff. Ultimately, this role ensures an exceptional guest experience while driving the hotel's financial and operational success.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in hotel management or a similar hospitality role.
  • Proven knowledge of yield management and food cost control.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve operational problems effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in hotel pre-opening projects.
  • Certification in hospitality management or related professional credentials.
  • Familiarity with hotel management software and property management systems.
  • Experience working in diverse hospitality environments across the United States.
  • Advanced leadership and team management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing daily hotel operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Support the General Manager in strategic planning, including pre-opening activities for new properties.
  • Monitor and control food costs and inventory to optimize profitability.
  • Implement and oversee safety procedures to maintain a secure environment for guests and employees.
  • Apply yield management strategies to maximize room occupancy and revenue.
  • Identify operational problems promptly and develop effective solutions.
  • Coordinate with department heads to maintain high standards of hospitality and customer service.
  • Manage repetitive operational tasks while ensuring staff adherence to quality and safety standards.
