We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant who will supports the facilities team by performing a combination of light maintenance, janitorial, and general upkeep tasks to ensure the building, grounds, and equipment are clean, safe, and fully operational. This role is hands-on and requires attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining a professional environment.

WORK SHIFT AND HOURS:

Monday - Friday 9:00am-5:45pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform a variety of general building maintenance repairs and services for both our facility and our equipment (painting, building upkeep, assists Lead Maintenance Technician with light plumbing, electrical and HVAC work)
• Keep grounds and parking areas clean, free of litter and debris.
• Provide daily janitorial support, including emptying trash and maintaining cleanliness in common areas.
• Assist with facility improvement projects and routine upkeep of interior and exterior spaces.
• Deliver, stock, and store cleaning, toiletry, and paper supplies throughout the facility.
• Assist with supply inventory management and scheduling deliveries.
• Provide backup support for light janitorial duties as needed.
• Assist the Lead Maintenance Technician with building shipping pallets.
• Ensures the company shuttle van is properly attended to, stored, cleaned and fueled, reports necessary repairs timely
• Greets team members in a professional manner and escorts employees to our overflow lot via company shuttle van.
• Assists Lead Maintenance Technician with failed equipment or equipment part changes as needed.
• Maintain current knowledge of operational hours, security, and facility grounds.
• Maintains a safe, confidential, and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Assure safety standards are being utilized, and complies with all company, local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Attend all Compliance Training Classes and abide by Compliance Policy and Procedure.
• Exude exemplary customer service and consistently maintain a positive attitude.
• Special projects and other responsibilities may be determined and assigned by Management

COMPETENCIES, PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:

• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
• Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools and equipment in a warehouse facility
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety standards, OSHA guidelines to be understood within 60 days of hire
• Knowledge of proper use of storage and disposal for cleaning chemicals
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Ability to follow and carry out instruction with excellent attention to detail
• Positive and professional interpersonal skills
• Effective oral and written communication and can implement directions clearly
• Ability to lift 20-40 pounds frequently and up to 50-100 pounds on occasion with assistance
• Ability to work outdoors with fluctuating temperatures
• Ability to work in an open warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years general facility maintenance experience
• Prior experience in janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building systems, tools, and equipment helpful.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and hand/power tools.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
