Vision: We envision schools throughout East Central Indiana having the qualified staff & training needed to provide specialized behavior support services so ALL students can succeed.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The BCBA - Caregiver Training Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality, medically necessary caregiver training services (CPT 97156/97158). This role partners with each client’s supervising BCBA to ensure caregivers are effectively trained to implement, generalize, and maintain treatment gains across home, school, and community settings.

This position maintains a caseload of caregivers rather than direct client therapy and focuses on building caregiver competency, consistency, and engagement in treatment. The BCBA – Caregiver Training Specialist collaborates with the supervising BCBA and is responsible for executing caregiver training components of the treatment plan, while final clinical oversight and program design remain with the supervising BCBA.

This role is critical to ensuring treatment success beyond direct therapy by increasing caregiver competence, confidence, and active participation in treatment implementation. A primary responsibility is ensuring that caregivers can independently and consistently implement intervention strategies outside of sessions, resulting in meaningful skill generalization and long-term maintenance.
