If you’re excited about building impactful technology in a dynamic, hands-on environment, we’d love to hear from you!
About the role
- Lyte is seeking a hands-on Senior Electrical Engineer to own complex electrical and PCB designs from concept through production. This role combines high-speed digital design, mixed-signal electronics, power management, and board-level development for advanced sensing and robotics platforms. We are looking for someone who has personally designed, brought up, debugged, and delivered complex electronic hardware. This is an individual-contributor role focused on direct engineering execution, not primarily design oversight.
What you'll do
- Own electrical designs from architecture and schematic development through PCB layout, prototyping, bring-up, validation, and production.
- Design complex digital, analog, and mixed-signal PCBs incorporating SoCs, FPGAs, power management, sensors, and high-speed interfaces.
- Execute and own board-level layout and power distribution network design, considering signal integrity, power integrity, timing, and overall system performance.
- Design and bring up applicable high-speed interfaces such as USB 3.1 Gen 2, LPDDR4/4x, MIPI, 10G/25G Ethernet, and PCIe Gen 2/3.
- Develop power trees, regulator selections, sequencing, decoupling, and power distribution strategies.
- Debug hardware in the lab; measure and improve signal/power integrity, investigate failures, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, systems, manufacturing and test engineers to resolve integration issues.
- Develop in-circuit and functional test plans; support reliability, manufacturability, cost, and production readiness.
- Partner with manufacturing teams and external suppliers through prototype builds, qualification, and product launch.
- Contribute across multiple concurrent hardware projects while maintaining technical accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with at least eight years of relevant engineering experience.
- Demonstrated personal ownership of complex PCB designs from schematics and layout through bring-up, validation, and production.
- Hands-on design and bring-up experience with high-speed digital interfaces, including relevant technologies such as USB, LPDDR, MIPI, Ethernet, or PCIe.
- Experience designing power architectures, sequencing, decoupling, and power distribution networks.
- Practical signal- and power-integrity debugging with oscilloscopes and applicable equipment such as VNAs, TDRs, or spectrum analyzers.
- Experience with electronic design tools such as Altium 365, Cadence OrCAD, or Allegro.
- Experience designing for testability, manufacturability, cost, and production support.
- Strong collaboration and English-language communication skills across multidisciplinary, international teams; ability to travel internationally when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree with more experience is highly desired
- Familiarity with Ansys SIwave, Ansys HFSS, Cadence Sigrity, and Keysight ADS.
- Robotics, mobile platforms, or autonomous systems experience
- Sensor integration (cameras, solid-state LiDAR, IMU)
- Embedded firmware / hardware integration experience (C/C++, Python)
- Functional safety design experience (ISO 26262, IEC 61508)
- Proactive member of the multi-disciplinary team, takes ownership of technical challenges and work with others to resolve issues
- Data analysis experience such as JMPs is a plus; Excel is OK.
Benefits (subject to location and local regulations)
- Competitive salary and equity
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Flexible vacation and time-off policy
- Collaborative, fast-paced, and inclusive work environment
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies with a highly cross-functional team
The pay range for this role is:
150,000 - 250,000 USD per year(Bay Area, Ca)
