About This Position
Job Summary: The Teardown Specialist is responsible for the systematic disassembly of various products, to recover valuable components and materials. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong mechanical skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Disassembly: Systematically de-manufacture and disassemble products to their core components, including cords, boards, plastics, and metals.
- Component Sorting: Separate and categorize parts that require replacement from those that can be reused or recycled.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of disassembled parts and materials, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including repair technicians and parts managers, to ensure efficient workflow.
- Quality Control: Inspect components for damage or wear and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
- Safely operate a forklift to move heavy components and materials within the facility.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a warehouse or workshop setting, with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Full-time position during 2nd shift hours [2pm-10:30pm]; occasional overtime may be required
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role or in a mechanical/technical field is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to use hand and power tools.
- Forklift Certification: Valid forklift operator certification and experience operating a forklift.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus.
