Job Description

Patrol Duties:

• Conduct hourly foot patrols of entire property, including common areas, to deter inappropriate behavior.
• Check status of property, lock/unlock buildings and common areas.

Enforce Management Protocols:

• Enforce community rules regarding parking policies, noise ordinances, common areas and trespassers.
• Incident Response: Respond quickly and effectively to incidents or disturbances, including noise complaints, safety hazards, and any other possible incidents such as fires, medical incidents, or natural disasters, while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
• Contacting authorities and maintaining order until First Responders arrive.

Community Engagement:

• A management representative for residents needing assistance or having concerns, and relay commentaries back to management.
• Build positive relationships with residents and promote a sense of safety.

Reporting:

• Advise management of any serious incidents or if emergency services were contacted. Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and community interactions.
• Prepare detailed incident reports as necessary and communicate findings to appropriate authorities.

Safety Programs:

• Assist in implementing safety and awareness programs aimed at educating residents about personal safety and community resources.

Requirements

• Two years experience in courtesy patrol or security for a large apartment complex
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in field is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse community members, as well as management and local authorities.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations and demonstrate problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Competence in the operation of telephone, business calculator, copy machine, facsimile, personal computer/keyboard, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License, reliable transportation and current auto insurance coverage as this position may require some driving for company business.
