Position Information
Reporting to the Skilled Trades Supervisor, the Sr. Building Maintenance Worker independently works as part of a regular maintenance crew and/or as an assistant to the skilled tradesmen. The Sr. Building Maintenance Worker performs a variety of semi-skilled and planned maintenance tasks, projects, and assignments, throughout the University of California, Riverside campus. This position will work on small to large tasks such as replacing HVAC filters, replacing lamps, performing repairs on fixed furniture, breaking and removal of concrete and asphalt, and other tasks as assigned. Additionally, this position will support the other trades in the Maintenance Services unit by performing semi-skilled building maintenance tasks including: Access Control, Carpentry/Sheetmetal/Regulated Materials, Electrical, Building Mechanical/HVAC, Plumbing, Paint/Signage, Fire & Life Safety. This position supports the inspection and response to requests for repairs, installations, and emergency situations during or after hours for the purposes of resolving immediate safety concerns. All job duties are preformed in adherence with University and departmental safety guidelines.The full salary range for the Senior Building Maintenance Worker is $24.13 - $31.84 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. | Ability to withstand frequent exposure to extreme temperature conditions up to 125 degrees F (boiler rooms, steam pits, outdoor weather, etc.). Ability to work in confined and dusty spaces and wear respirator or other required safety gear. Ability to work outdoors in extreme and inclement weather conditions ranging from high heat with humidity, to freezing, rainy, and windy conditions.
