Job Description

Description:

A Brokerage Capacity Representative will maintain current carrier relationships and develop new carrier relationships to provide capacity coverage for TLD Logistics brokerage division. The role will monitor pickups and deliveries as well as providing updates and rate quotes to customers.

The core responsibilities include problem solving, communicating with carriers and customers, tracking orders in our transportation management system, order building, shipping documentation support and quoting customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Track and trace orders and provide timely updates on shipments.
  • Build new orders and offer expedite services.
  • Manage a book of carriers to meet individual and team growth goals.
  • Ability to negotiate rates with carriers in a fast-paced environment
  • Work with account manager insure capacity coverage
  • Assist with paperwork and documentation.
  • Respond promptly to both customer and carrier requests.
  • Engage in professional interactions with carriers and customer stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively via phone, email, text, and instant messaging.
  • Maintain a detail-oriented approach and multitask across various communication platforms.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency for time-sensitive shipments.
  • Resolve transportation issues that occur during the transit of goods.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to manage logistics and customer relations.
  • Use knowledge of supply chains and transportation markets to source/provide capacity.
  • Perform other support activities as needed.
Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree preferred
  • 0-2 years’ experience in logistics/transportation preferred (3PL/Brokerage a plus)
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent geographical knowledge
  • Professional organizational, verbal and written skills
  • Ability to multi-task and detail oriented
