Accounting & Payroll Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting & Payroll Coordinator to join our finance team. This position is responsible for processing payroll, supporting the daily accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, maintains confidentiality, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
Payroll Administration
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Maintain employee payroll records, tax withholdings, deductions, and direct deposit information.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
- Process garnishments, child support orders, and other payroll deductions.
- Prepare payroll reports for management and auditors.
- Coordinate with Human Resources regarding new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
- Assist with year-end payroll processing, including W-2 preparation.
Accounting Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable invoices and vendor payments.
- Assist with accounts receivable and customer payment posting.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support annual financial audits and tax preparation.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepare various accounting and payroll reports.
- Support process improvements and internal controls.
- Cross-train with other accounting team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of accounting and payroll experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with accounting and payroll software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
