Position Summary

Pathfinder is seeking an experienced and highly connected Business Development Director to drive new client acquisition and expand market presence across key industrial sectors. The successful candidate will leverage an established network of industry relationships and a strong understanding of engineering, construction, project management, and project controls services to identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities.

This role requires a strategic business developer with deep industry knowledge, experience navigating Front-End Loading (FEL) project development processes, and the ability to collaborate across multiple business units to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Generate new clients and new business opportunities within the following target industries:
    • Power
    • Mining
    • Pharmaceuticals
    • Oil & Gas
    • Data Centers
  • Utilize an established network of industry contacts to develop and accelerate sales opportunities.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue strategic opportunities that align with System One’s service offerings.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development plan to support revenue growth objectives.
  • Create and implement an effective cold-calling and prospecting strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the sales lifecycle.

Industry & Market Engagement

  • Develop strategies for participation in industry-specific conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Represent System One at key industry meetings and events to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the Front-End Loading (FEL) process and effectively communicate its value to prospective clients.

Collaboration & Internal Leadership

  • Work closely with Industry Service Leads (ISLs), Sales Leadership Council (SLC), and Marketing teams to identify and pursue target opportunities.
  • Accompany SLC representatives during the first year to strengthen relationships with existing SLCX contacts and expand business opportunities.
  • Develop strong working relationships with other Company business units to promote cross-selling and integrated service offerings.
  • Understand and effectively communicate the full range of Pathfinder capabilities to clients and prospects.
  • Attend and actively participate in:
    • Daily morning leadership meetings
    • Weekly Friday Business Development meetings

Process & Reporting

  • Establish and maintain a lead tracking process that integrates with Pathfinder and existing business development tools.
  • Monitor and report on business development activities, pipeline performance, and revenue forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and opportunity progression.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven success in business development, sales, or client acquisition within industrial markets.
  • Established network ("Rolodex") of decision-makers and industry contacts within one or more of the following sectors:
    • Power
    • Mining
    • Pharmaceuticals
    • Oil & Gas
    • Data Centers
  • Demonstrated experience developing and selling:
    • Engineering services
    • Construction services
    • Project management services
    • Project controls services
  • Strong understanding of the Front-End Loading (FEL) process and project development lifecycle.
  • Experience collaborating with marketing, operations, and technical teams to develop winning business strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Self-starter capable of developing opportunities independently while collaborating effectively across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Houston-based candidate strongly preferred.
  • Existing relationships with EPCs, asset owners, developers, operators, and industrial project stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting large-scale capital projects within target industries.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, lead-tracking systems, and business development reporting tools.
