About the Role:
The Human Resources Manager in the Hospitality and Food Services industry plays a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining a productive, compliant, and positive workplace environment. This position is responsible for overseeing all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws and affirmative action policies. The manager ensures that human resources strategies align with organizational goals, fostering employee engagement and retention. They serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on employment law and disciplinary procedures, mitigating risks and promoting fair treatment. Ultimately, this role drives the development and implementation of HR policies that support a diverse and inclusive workforce while enhancing operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in human resources management, preferably within the Hospitality and Food Services industry.Strong knowledge of employment law, labor laws, and affirmative action requirements applicable in the United States.Proven experience in performance administration and employee relations.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR policies and disciplinary procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR.Familiarity with HRIS systems, ADP preferred, and data analytics for workforce management.Advanced training in conflict resolution and mediation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage human resources policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.Manage employee relations by addressing workplace conflicts, conducting investigations, and facilitating resolutions.Lead affirmative action initiatives to promote diversity and equal employment opportunities within the organization.Coordinate disciplinary procedures and performance management processes to maintain a productive work environment.Collaborate with department managers to support HR operations and workforce planning.Ensure accurate and timely HR recordkeeping and reporting.Provide training and guidance to staff and management on HR best practices and legal compliance.
