Ellis Medicine is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join our growing cardiovascular team in Schenectady, New York.

This unique hospital-based opportunity is designed for a cardiologist who enjoys the clinical complexity and variety of inpatient cardiovascular medicine and values a predictable 7-on/7-off schedule.

The physician will provide comprehensive inpatient cardiology care at Ellis Hospital, including inpatient rounding and consultative cardiology services, while working alongside an established team of cardiologists and advanced practice providers.

Clinical Responsibilities

The Non-Invasive Cardiologist will provide comprehensive inpatient cardiovascular care at Ellis Hospital, including:

• Provide inpatient cardiology consultation and management for patients with cardiovascular conditions
• Perform daily inpatient rounding and develop individualized treatment plans
• Evaluate and manage patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, hypertension, and other cardiovascular conditions
• Provide cardiology consultation to patients admitted through the Emergency Department and other inpatient services
• Interpret and utilize ECGs, telemetry, echocardiography, stress testing, laboratory data, and other diagnostic studies to guide patient management
• Provide pre-procedural and peri-procedural cardiovascular evaluation and risk assessment
• Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, structural heart specialists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and other members of the multidisciplinary team
• Coordinate care with hospitalists, primary care physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, and other consulting services
• Communicate recommendations and treatment plans with patients, families, and referring physicians
• Participate in discharge planning and transitions of care
• Provide appropriate follow-up recommendations for patients transitioning to outpatient care

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
• Licensed (or eligible) to practice in New York State
• Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered cardiovascular care
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Inpatient cardiology experience preferred
