You will help ensure secure, accurate, and efficient payment processing across the full transaction lifecycle.

Accountabilities:

The Payments Operations Specialist will support daily payment operations by ensuring transaction accuracy, compliance adherence, and timely resolution of payment-related issues.

  • Review and verify customer payment transactions, including identity validation and customer verification activities.
  • Support payment processing workflows, including ACH/NACHA file reviews, transaction tracking, and payment reconciliations.
  • Investigate payment exceptions, discrepancies, refund requests, disputes, chargebacks, and transaction-related issues.
  • Perform root-cause analysis to identify operational issues and recommend effective resolutions.
  • Apply payment policies, procedures, and operational controls consistently across payment processes.
  • Support fraud prevention activities, sanctions screening, compliance reviews, and risk management processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues and support business objectives.
  • Communicate with customers when needed to assist with payment verification and authorization processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce risks, and strengthen controls.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and handle sensitive financial information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Support critical payment processing activities and operational needs requiring flexibility when necessary.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate has experience in payments, financial operations, or related fields, with strong analytical abilities and a commitment to operational excellence.

  • 2+ years of experience in Payments Operations, Financial Services Operations, Payment Processing, Risk Operations, Fraud Prevention, Compliance, KYC, Trust & Safety, or similar operational roles.
  • Experience investigating payment issues, reviewing transactions, and performing reconciliation activities.
  • Knowledge of ACH/NACHA operations, payment processing workflows, customer verification, and compliance procedures.
  • Familiarity with fraud prevention, dispute management, refunds, transaction monitoring, and operational controls.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced operational environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in fintech, banking, marketplace, or financial services environments is preferred.
